Francis Román

Francis Román (she/they) is a second generation Ecuadorian-American director, writer, and producer. She is the Senior Film & TV Festival Programming Manager at SXSW and leads their Shorts Programming curation. She is also a NALIP and AFS member. Her experience has led her to serve as a jury member and panelist
for various Film Festivals. As a creative, she co-founded The Direct Line production company. She also co-hosts and produces How to Texas, a podcast spotlighting crew in the Texas film industry. Making art with friends and
watching films brings her immense joy and she would love to do it forever.
